22 + (34x2)^2 /8 ------------> Remember the rules of P.E.M.D.A.S.
(Parenthesis, Exponets, Multply, Divide, Add and Subtract)
22 + (68)^2 /8 -----=> 22 + (68 x 68) /8 --->22 + 4624 /8
22 + 578 ----> 600
if your in high school and you dont know this, thats sad, unless you starting Pre-Algebra in middle school then its ok. just remember P.E.M.D.A.S. this will help you on the problem like these

I think you have the first question answered.
It is either 600 or 580.75.
For your second question: making 24 - 12 - 4 x 2 = 8
it is: 24 - (12 - 4) x 2 = 8
because: 24 - (8) x 2 = 8
24 - 16 = 8
8 = 8

Your answer depends on where the parentheses are:
22+(34*2)^2/8 = 600
(22+(34*2)^2)/8 = 580.75

First do: (34X2)--that equals 68
then 68 to the 2nd power--that equals 4624
4624+22--that equals 4646
4646 divided by 8 = 580.75
And thats IF the 22+(the entires equations) is ALL divided by 8
IF IT NOT Then its:
34X2--equals 68
68 to the 2nd power is 4624
4624 divided by 8 is 578
578 plus 22 = 600
