Hey rabbit, it does hurt don't let anyone here tell you different. If it hits you it will bruise you (it will hit you). Just wear a thick sweatshirt and something on/around your neck, usually they give you a facemask with goggles. (also wear gloves) Dress in layers it will absorb the shot. It is a ton of fun, I know the begining of my answer doesn't make it seem like it would be fun but it is.
Go and have fun, pertend the other people are those crazy kids trying to steal your cereal...

The answer all depends upon the pressure of the guns being used - some are regulated, some are not - and the proximity of the target. Generally speaking, getting hit on one's bare skin will leave a mark and sting (enough that you'd like to avoid it, if possible). The more clothes you have on, obviously, the less this will be the case. Fair warning though: I've been hit from point blank range by shots that literally felt like the paintball broke the skin...the welts lasted weeks, not days or hours. We were all drunk though, so I guess you'd expect that when getting hit multiple times from two and a half feet away...Enjoy!

hahaha. Um...The paint ball breaks on impact and generally causes very little pain. Being hit by a paintball is not as painful as being hit by a squash ball or tennis ball thrown at you. Of course, the closer you are to the muzzle of the marker, the faster the paintball is traveling when it hits you. This means close range shots sting a little more

It all depends on how high the paintball guns are cranked. I've been hit all over, including on my neck and the back of my legs and arms with little protection. It stings pretty bad at first and can leave a good bruise. It feels like someone slapping you with a switch.

If you wear padded clothing or "armor," it doesn't hurt at all. Make sure to dress for the occasion and maybe find out what equipment they will have available. I have played paintball without padding and it hurts pretty bad for a couple of minutes but the pain goes away pretty quick.

It depends on what you are wearing, and how close the shooter is.
The one time I went, I was wearing a shirt, but got hit in the elbow at close range. The shot drew blood and was bruised for over a week. As you might imagine, it hurt quite a bit.
Is there a less violent activity that you would both enjoy?

depends on distance, velocity, and where the ball impacts the body...the average hit stings for a bit, but it's no biggy...if it hits flesh, it can bleed and will leave a mark...paintballs will leave marks everytime if they impact the body without protective equipment preventing its impact...it actually hurts less when it breaks...my best advice is to leave your mask on and to wear gloves...getting hit in the knuckles fricken hurts...oh, and wear chest protection...for obvious reasons

It stings a bit, really depends on where you get hit. Getting hit in the arm doesn't really hurt at all.

Yes it does I got hit with one in the *** and it stung and it left a welt and black and blued. Make sure you are protected in all areas and have something to hide behind so they can only get at you from one direction when you run out of ammo Good luck!!!
