I would like to use bio diesel in my Kia Carnival (Sedona) 2.9 crdi as it is significantly cheaper here in Germany. Is it possible to use as a 100% alternative to 'normal' diesel or do I have to mix it.

Bio-Diesel is compatiable with regular diesel and is suppose to be 100% alternative to "normal" diesel. Bio-Diesel is a mixture of methanol and vegetable oil. This is different than straight vegetable oil (SVO), which is frequently confused and called bio-diesel. SVO is not recommended for crd engines.

So if it is truly bio-diesel, which is made by using methanol and vegetable oil then yes it is compatiable.

Before you try this, get a conversion kit. It costs about $700USD(125 EU, hehe), and will keep you from having extensive, and expensive, engine repairs later on.

The latest data show that diesel and Bio-diesel are compatable.
