Society presents the unhandsome spectacle of a majority of successful hypocrites, on one side, contending against a minority of discovered criminals, on the other. The salvation of humanity depends primarily on the victory of the criminals over the hypocrites.

Once you are labeled, you are condemned to forever wear the badge of your condemnation. In the Scarlett letter, it is the letter. Once a prositutute, always a prostitute. There is no remorse or fogiveness. Once you have committed a sin in the eyes of society, you will forever be a sinner. You will labeled so that anyone ,everywhere will know your sin.
