He is almost like the old Randy Johnson, with a hard fastball though santanas velocity isnt as good as johnsons in his good days. He has a great slider and even compliments his great fastball and slider with probably his best pitch, the change up. I can see this guy putting up better numbers then johnson by the time his career is over other then strike outs.

He may be the best pitcher in baseball right now. If he can remain healthy, he can put up some very big numbers. Yes, it is possible this man can become a 300 game winner. Durability is the big question in a pitcher when you talk about the acheivement of 300 wins.

In the are of a 5 man rotation it is getting harder and harder to be 300+ game winner that being said Santana is now on a 20 game winning streak at home and is all ready for 3rd straight season over 200 on SO 300 wins very unlikely 3500 doable depending on injuries prefect games or no-hitters yup so yes he is the next great pitcher and I look forward to him winning more Cy's

Tough to predict so far out, but I would argue that there's no "next" needed - he's already the best pitcher in major league baseball, and he should dominate for the next several years.
As for his career, it will depend on what kind of velocity he can maintain into his mid-30s, and whether he manages to stay healthy. At this point, though, he definitely has a bright future.

What do you mean will be the next great pitcher. He is a great pitcher. I think that over the course of his career, he'll break numerous pitching records.

his out pitch is a change up and I don't think he'll dominate as long as Randy Johnson or similar pitchers have - he doesn't have the blazing fastball - I think eventually, he will be in the bullpen be it as a closer or set up man or something - he will have arm problems later in his career, his mechanics are suspect and once he lose a yard on his fastball, the change up will not be as devastating
