No.

And not because of the Zidane incident. I've watched him throughout the years at Everton and Inter. The guy is honestly the most brutal, eccentric, and dirty player I have ever seen. His rough challenges on Zlatan, Rui Costa were bad. However, elbowing Sorin and repeatedly attacking Shevchenko was just insane. He needs to be in a mental hospital or on some street corner, not on a football pitch.

I think that the people who think Materazzi is a bad person based on what he's done have the right to think that since deliberately provoking a player is just so unbelievably dirty and elbowing Sorin was so bad that he deserved to go to jail for it. However, the people who don't PERSONALLY know Materazzi and say he's a good person for no reason at all are seriously delusional. I mean, if he's your mother's cousin in law or whatever and you've met him and shared a few laughs and came to the conclusion that he's a good person, then you have every to think that. However, if he has done NOTHING to show that he is a good person, why would you believe that he is?

It's stupid to think he's a good person just because he plays for you. It shows you're biased. It's sickening how many fans of Juve, AC Milan and other Italian clubs (besides inter) are defending Materazzi and claiming he's a good person yet just a couple months ago, most of these people despised Materazzi. Practically every AC Milan fan I know (and I know a lot) used to LOATHE Materazzi.

And also, you gotta wonder why a while back, all the players in Serie A were polled on who's the most irritating and dirty player in Seria A and Mr. Materazzi won.

Are you serious? Good person? Materazzi? He is the furthest from a sweetheart one could get. Although I'm beginning to think that there are some people in this forum that are even worse than he is.

Yeah. I mean everyone has those bad moments but since I've never met the man before I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that I do believe that he really is a good person.

People are only calling him mean about what they see on the pitch, your football life and your personally life are 2 TOTALLY different things.. he is like any football player on the pitch - aggressive and sometimes mean... but i bet you that off the pitch he is a very sweet guy and you cant always go by what you see!!

I haven't met him personally so I can't say but insulting Zidane's family wasn't his proudest moment.
