B & B can be really nice. My wife and I when we travel, do our best to research and stay in one. So far, we have been to Big Bear Lake, Denver, Branson, and Florida and stayed at a B and B.
They are a little more expensive, but research and find out the amenities you want and the price your willing to pay.
If its romantic you want, search for Hotels with Jacuzzi tubs or Honeymoon suites in them.; They are usually a little cheaper.
Good luck and have fun. Trips like that can light that spark in a marriage

Big pro is social. Particularly if you're traveling alone it gives you some people to talk to.
You're staying in a room with individual decor, not the usual hotel stuff. It often feels special/elegant.
You don't have to find a place for breakfast.
It's generally a bit more expensive. You often don't have a TV and telephone access is usually limited, although available. No gym, pool, etc. Quality is pretty variable, helps to have a guidebook or web reviews.

B and B's are really romantic. However, they tend to be prohibitively expensive. Also you are one of several couples (usually) in a house. So instead of having a private experience you find yourself sharing breakfast and dinner with strangers. Hey, you might be into that. My husband and I opted for a cabin. Seclusion, private and romance all at once... good times good times.
