"Beautiful Woman" I read your post from another question about you defending muslim's and bashing white Christians for slavery.....
You deserve some Truth today- So thank your Creator!
Slave "Trade" (That horrible commodity) was, at the time the US "acquired" slaves, owned and operated BY THE PORTUGUESE! (A Spanish heritaged nationality- not whites!!!) They call it slave trade because they traded different items with an African Tribe leader for workers...The Portuguese also sold African slaves to Puerto Rico and The Dominican Republic and many, many other countries whom used slaves. Yes it is wrong! However it is also wrong to spread false truth about history and thereby spreading hate!!!!!!
You know, slavery has been around for thousands of years! Egyptians (people of color) also used slaves but did it in not as nice an established way. They conquered and enslaved the Jews of Israel...(No trading involved) You may now sleep better in knowing this (a little) less ugly truth! You do not have to hate White people as much! YEA!!! Further more, we white people shed our own blood to free the slaves- remember the civil war! You know you should fill your heart with Truth and Love...
Besides black people in Africa are still being used for slavery by another people of color, TODAY! Heard of it? Get the Truth and truth be told...

You dun told Harpo to beat me!!
It's interesting that the avatars portray people of some color, except, so far, the intelligent answer of the film being"ugly". Goes to show we're still in need of improving and educating people on the atrocities that people of African-American decsent have faced in our country. This movie surely depicts some frightening themes that some people fear to deem as reality. I admire Alice Walker for her courageous statements......And I'm White!

Shug is talking to Miss Celie and she says something like, "I think it pisses God off when someone walks by a field of the color purple and doesn't stop to notice".

I love this movie!!!

Not so much a line. I love the song that Shug sings to Whoopie.

Great line but i like the scene between Whoopie and her friend when they form their appreciation for one another. Its is not so much the lines but the interaction that is important to the drama and its meaning.

I may not being saying it right but, "Everything you did to me is right back on you." Something like that. She is holding her fingers at him like a curse as she is leaving him.
