I am sick and tired of hearing them whining about getting evicted. Heck, I may get evicted some day too if I can't pay my rent but I doubt the goverment will come to my rescue. I lost everything I had a year ago due to different circumstances but no one took me in and gave me freebies. It has been a year and it is time for them to get a job and pay their own rent. Our city has had an alarming rise in crime in the last year. I agree with the people who want Bill White (our mayor) to send them all home or to some other place. Helping is one thing but when the ones you help turn around and complain because they want help forever, well then, its time for some other state to take on the burden. HOw does everyone feel about this situation?

They have become professional victims with the aid of the government and the news media.

Agree with you that its time to start paying their own freight or move on. Houston picked up a lot of responsibility trying to help and it is backfiring on them.

You guys make me ashamed of being an American. Before you go dumping on them, remember the hurricane was not their fault, and a disaster like that could happen to anyone. Should we hope one hits Houston and destroys it, so you can experience the same problems? Their homes haven't been rebuilt yet--it's pretty much certain that the water-damaged houses will either need to be torn down or have extensive renovations, and their jobs might be gone for good, so what are they going to go back to, anyway??? And why should they be forced to go back in the middle of another hurricane season? And how easy is it for a mass of strangers to find jobs in a strange city, especially if they have to compete against cheap immigrant labor?

You go girl!! You and I are on the same page. I do not want even 1 red penny going to the "Katrina victims" until they get up off their lazy behinds and get to work rebuilding their town so they can get the he** back there.
