perhaps because weeds are annoying and carry a more negative connotation. people buy plants, shrubs, bushes, and fern.

Cause a weed is small and shriveled!If you say dick brush sounds like alot or even dick plant!Dick weed is more approiate if your wanting to belittle someone!
