The good old days. Like when I was a kid. I grew up in the fifties and was a teen in the sixties. Times were good. It was an era of stricter standards and these standards were rigidly enforced which was sometimes good and sometimes not so good. I believe children and teens were better behaved than now and this was due at least in part to the fact that there was usually a parent in the house when they were. I know women working is now the usual but it wasn't then. I think with the better supervision kids just didn't get in as much trouble. There is also the fact that is you did mess up there was no getting away with it the whole neighborhood would tell your parents and you were punished. Punishment is a good thing when it teaches good behavior. Wages were lower so were expenses. People were used to doing with a lot less. Remember most of my parents peers had grew up during the depression and had just survived WWII. Things were just different. The media is the media and has always focused on the negative. I think I will keep my rose colored glasses about when I grew up. I don't need to remember the bad it's there and a part of me but I think I like remembering the good old days

Yes, they really are the good old days. Things were more simple and life was easier. Easier in the sense of you knew what you had to do and you did it or suffer the consequences. There were no quick fixes or easy ways out. Less media is a blessing and a curse the same just like having more media. It's all a matter of choices like everything else in life. Some media sources use tact and some don't give a flying FK!

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Someone said.
Alcoholism has been around forever. And parents used to
beat their kids senseless. Our parents weren't allowed to talk
about these things. Fortunately, we live in a time that we can.
I like to say that evil always wants to be bigger than it is. It blows
itself up out of proportion. Wants to be the center of attention.
And makes us think there is nothing but evil, and there is
nothing we can do about it. But evil is not that big.
They say that 500 people got kiled with hand guns in New York
City last year, and any loss of life is tragic. But there are
8,000,000 people in New York City. See what I'm saying?
The Earth is going through a physical change, that will force
humanity's hand. It will be hard for a time. People fighting over
basic needs. But the human spirit has always triumphed over
any adversity this world has ever thrown at it!
