I am surprised that so many people assume that I am old and attacking their freedom to bare their flesh when I asked that question simply out of curiosity. I appreciate the freedom to wear what please us but I also appreciate people dressing appropriately and sensibly in public. I have no problem with nudity when it is presented in an aesthetic way. However, It doesn't seem aesthetically pleasing when a young lady exposes too much of her back (like a builder) when she bends down. It seems very unhygienic and disrespectful to show certain nooks and crannies of the human body. Surely, there's a difference between baring one's flesh and baring it in a pleasing way?

Firstly I am a western woman and I have never ever dressed in a way that could be considered "nudity". What the HELL are you on?!?!?!?!?

Muslim women seem to be so arrogant that they assume ALL men are going to be desperately lusting after them if they show their faces or figures, and will be so overcome with lust that they will proposition or jump on them.

Western women are more sensible and we know that not every man who sees us will find us attractive. And even those who do will be able to act in a sensible and restrained way. And we can always say "NO!"

We see no need to be ashamed of ourselved and cover our heads or bodies in ridiculous looking bedsheets with slits for eyes. We wear normal comfortable clothes and get on with our daily lives, proud of our glossy hair, our healthy skin and our slim figures.

As for it being disrespectful - well disrespectful to WHO? If a woman chooses to wear revealing clothes then how can it be disrespectful to her if it is her choice? You make no sense. And what the hell has "hygiene" to do with it?

You are on some very strange drugs.

You muslims REALLY BADLY need to stop shoving your culture and views down other's throats!!! It is arrogant of you. We don't want to read the Koran, we don't want to find out about your religion, we don't want to wear hijab or be saved by Allah - we are NOT INTERESTED??? Got it?!?!?

i AM NOT OLD, but in the west there is a tendency to follow the dictates of fashion, a lot of the teenagers and some not so young buy into the trends that are advocated in the media, in trying to decide wether the person is doing the baring to please you or herself, i would suggest that it is the latter rather than the former.
Like the off button on a TV, you can turn it off you do not have to look
are you not buying in to the medias stereotype of what a woman should look like, her size is what she is, that is her, when you say aesthetically, do you mean in a shapely way or a well rounded way. and by implication do you mean that all nudists are unhygienic? or all men who walk around with a pair of skimpy shorts on and a bare chest are unclean, or is it just women you have a view on. regards FL

I am a little bit past the age when this type of dressing would have been ok!!! But when younger (not that long ago!) I always subscribed to the idea that the less you show the more interest there is in what is underneath. It always paid off for me at any rate. Never felt the need to show much of anything and always had the odd admirer at least. It pays to keep them guessing and it is a bit sad that few girls realise this nowadays. I feel sorry for them coming into womanhood now - it must be very confusing and you need a huge amount of self confidence to do it right. In my opinion anyway.

I balieve that a woman has the right to make up her own mind about what and how much clothing she wears, but I take no offense to your question, in fact I agree with you on the trend of the lowrider jeans or pants that give the "plumber's butt" look. It's just plain awful and hideous. Whoever sold that to the women of the world should have their design license taken away and be forced to wear polyester leisure suits for eternity.

DOWN WITH CRACK!!! butt crack that is.

Western men this hot Summer were baring far more flesh than women ...most were topless. When women bare that much you may have a right to complain especially if accompanyed by unhygienic hairy armpits as most were.

it's probably because western people dont do that type of thing eg. television stations show dead local people for the world to see but if a western person has been killed(ain't war fun) a landscape photo is shown with a commentary

and have you not noticed that the ones who dress that way have the manners and respect for others to go with that look?
I pity them really.
Respect for oneself, is needed first. Then Respect for others will follow.
I could no more dress that way than treat an individual poorly.

perhaps it's because we are too used to associating burkas with the oppression of women?...

if a woman chooses to wear a burka and it is entirely her own choice and not because she fears the possible repercussions of not wearing one, then i think that is fine, as it can simply be seen as a sign of her devotion.

i think baring any amount of flesh is fine, but then i am pretty tolerant and liberal in my views. covering ourselves was seen to be a result of original sin and loss of innocence in genesis.

peace.

You know what
my six year old son asked me the other day why women show their bottoms off under their jeans. I told him those women came from bad homes and he should ignore them and know that he should never mix with people like that
Why?
Because now that women leave their asses hanging out children have no choice but to be aware of it. So yeah there is freedom to do what you want but if you ignore how it affects people dont get upset when they strike back or have something to say about it.
Dont get upset when someone wants to rape you
The illusion of freedom in peoples minds is astounding, there is no freedom whetther you have your **** hanging out or you wear a hijab
Its all bollocks

LMAO!!! I think you have a valid point.

Some women are insecure and are in need of that kind of attention. But what they don't realize is when they do that, they attract the wrong kind of attention.

But if they like it, I love it.
