My friend and I are planning a road trip to Las Vegas. While it is not that far from California to Sin City, it would still be nice to have some music to listen to as we cruise on up there in my convertible. Does anyone have any good suggestions of fun road trip or Las Vegas themed songs? Viva Las Vegas by Elvis is a given… I need something a little more… creative… help me out here…

I find Talking Heads very appropos. During that long stretch of straight road through the desert, you can play "Road to Nowhere"

Then during other parts of the trip, you can put on Pychokiller (just love the beat while driving), or Burning Down the House (how sinful is that!).

Other songs for that wonderful straightaway, Rebel Yell, American Pie, plus many others.

Have fun!

I like listening to "The Devil's Rejects" Soundtrack on road trips. Although, it's not for everyone. If you go to amazon.com and search for it, you can play clips of the songs. I mean.. who doesn't like the song "Freebird"

I also like listening to some groovy house music. Vegas has some amazing clubs out there and great djs and music so why not start off by listening to some funky groovy house. It always gets me in an upbeat mood.

I am driving up there on Sept. 15th for the weekend. I am so stoked! Anyway, good luck and drive safe!

If your car has a MP3 player option, you can make a MP3 mix of all of your favorite songs and ride to that. This way, you do not have to take all those CDs on the road with you and you will not forget anything. Have fun!

If you're driving overnight and getting a little drowsy, "Runnin' Down a Dream" (Tom Petty), and "Gearjammer" (George Thorogood) are good adrenaline boosters.

I drive long distances quite frequently.

What do I listen to?

Books on tape. No, seriously.

I will go to the library (where you can borrow for FREE) and grab a couple of books. Murder mysteries or Stephen King books really make the trip seem much MUCH shorter.

Have a safe trip!
