The professor made the wardrobe out of the wood from a tree from Narnia at the time of the creation of the lamp-post. A bar from a lamp post in Victorian London found it's way to Narnia when it was first created, and grew into the lamp-post. A tree was planted that seed came from Narnia, and was cut down to make the wardrobe. The professor has been to Narnia in his youth.
And hope I don't spoil things, but Aslan is a euphamism for Jesus, the whole series has Christian overtones.

You need to read the Magician's Nephew. That book will tell you about the professor's connection to Narnia. I don't want to say too much, because I don't want to spoil it for your.

I agree with your sister.
At the end of the movie I, too, got the same idea.
I almost bet the witch was Mrs. MacReady!

i would tell you but i have this feeling that your one of those type people who didn't read the book because if you were smart enough to read you would be smart enough to figure it out yourself using context clues. or at least smart enough to ask somebody in private instead of displaying your stupidity to the whole world.
