Quite possible but I do believe this, if the person who was driving hurt someone they would have also been strung up to the nearest tree. So if that is your point, sure do away with the road side but be willing to have your neck immediately stretched after you hurt someone.
I really kind of like the idea, sort of puts personal responsibility back into driving.

Washington wasn't exactly a liberal. So probably not he was a slave owner after all. That alone tells me volumes as to how he would approach things two faced like most southern politicians.
