First, eliminate fruits & veggies on the counter. Use smaller trash bags and take the trash out several times a day. There is something in or around your home these buggers are laying their eggs on/in and eating. You need to find what it is and eliminate it.
Check vents & crawlspaces.
You need to eliminate what is drawing them to your house and then you can eliminate them. Dirty laundry, dishes, etc are all attractants. Kids rooms can attract them too (kids will leave all sorts of thngs in odd spots if not checked regularly).

Get Flys-Off. It's a pink cream that you can put on them. Yep, the flies seem to go for their ears. I've seen people put duct tape on their dogs ears to keep the flies off also (ok, these were not the brightest people I knew by a long shot), but it did keep the flys off and probably a little pulled hair was a lot better in the long run. Go to a farm and feed store. A lot of horse products (now here you're taking flys!) can also be used on dogs and are cheaper and come in large quantities. They'll probably have the "Flys-Off" too. As someone just noted, it's available as a spray. You can get some of that too, but the ointment's better for the ears. It stays on and should last all day. Now go look at the pesticides. Look and/or ask around what's good for flies. Buy and use a lot of it! Also, buy a 1or 2 gallon (probably a 1 gallon's enough) pump sprayer for application. How about a screen tent? You could move it around the yard. I moved from the city with 1/4 acre lot - mainly grass to 12.5 acres in the middle of nowhere. Had some fly problems in the city. None whatsoever here. It's the trash around - I'd guess. All you can do is prevent direct attacks. They'll be back in your yard tomorrow. Actually, "Off" seems to work just fine on dogs (it stings any raw spots so avoid the ears and face). Hey. Whatever helps the dogs - I use it. Never had any complaints (or problems). --- Pinesol --- Sounds like a good thing to know! How much per gallon or so?

Plant tansy and basil by your doors. Crush leaves of the plants and spread them around your house. The other guy was right about the bags of water, but be sure to put a penny in each bag. I dont know why that works either. The flies only come in my house in the early afternoon, they congregate on the storm door for some reason and get in when we go in and out. At night they like to sleep on the ceiling. Go on a fly hunt in the evening to at least keep them from dive bombing you in your sleep in the morning.

I've tried hundred of "home methods" and none of them work. Just go to the store and get a can of house-fly killer. Spray your home down. Leave for about an hour. Problem solved.

This is crazy but it works. Fill clear 1 gallon plastic bags with plain water don;t fill completely as you need to hang them outside of doors and windows. You can add 1 part bleach to the water to prevent bacterial growth. I don't know why or how it works but it keeps them from coming in.
