A girl I recently met through a friend told me that she can get me a job as an exotic dancer. She says that I will make very good money which I badly need. The club has sort of a bad reputation and they show everything. Should I do it or not?

Depends on how you think you will feel about the decision years down the road. How do you think this might affect future relationships if your boyfriend found out what you did. Are you planning on having children some day? How would you feel if they found out and imagine how they would feel about it.

The decision is completely up to you. But also try to think further down the road. There are other ways of getting money. I don't know how bad your situation is but there are always places to turn. Good luck.

I reckon you can make excellent money in clubs that don't have bad reputations if you're happy to be a stripper. I guess you'd need to have thick skin though.

Here's a good one I saw the other night, as part of the Edinburgh Festival:

Girl with looooong hair in beautiful ringlets, and a sparkly dress
Stripper music, the guys in the crowd go wild and start shouting
(I behaved myself of course)
The clothes started coming off
And then the bra is unclipped... and at that very moment she also pulls off her entire hair - turns out its a wig and she's a baldy. She swings both bra and hair around above her head. The boys in the crowd stop shouting.
Then, topless and bald, she wanders about and flirts for a while. My friend (lesbian) got a snog. Then she starts getting dressed again - different clothes. Mannerisms change, the music changes. By the time she's dressed, she's a man - a hard, strutting, butch, no messin' man.

Excellent way to weird the hell out of a bunch of tight-assed rednecks. I loved it.

Would have enjoyed an ordinary stripper as well, though; shame, that.

Be smart. Strippers are usually ignorant prostitutes. You can make 3x's the money a stripper make per day at home on the Internet.

Of course, you'll need to learn how to earn money online and get help setting it all up. It's easy if you are serious about making money and you learn from the right people.

What type of websites do you like to hangout on? Create a Site that's similar to what you like and learn how to make money from it. It doesn't matter if the site is a big as Myspace.com or as small as an online bookstore. The help is available to you.

Good Luck!

Personally, i think no. Don't do it unless you're really prepared to strip plus considering the club has a sort of bad reputation, I definitely would say no. They're a lot better jobs out there, though some may not be a high-paying one but it's still decent and you'll be safer. Anyway, it's up to you to decide. Take care :)

I spent 5 years in the Marines and spent alot of time in strip joints. What I can tell you from being friends with the girls is that there is a huge amount of drug usage. Odds are you will be treated extremely poorly by the owner of the club. Nasty guys that you would never give the time of day will be filling you up and you'll have to dance for them. You'll be constantly offered money for sex and you'll be tempted. Once you start making that kind of money, you'll have a very hard time walking away and getting a normal job. You'll end up old and stripping and hating your life...not to mention the impact it will have on your family or future family.

Hope this helps.

It's not just the stripping, is it. Do you really want to be part of a sordid scene that could lead you into all sorts of bother? I'm no expert but I think it would be the start of what could be a slippery slope down into loss of self-respect and wanting to earn more and more money, doing whatever it takes to get it. Are you strong enough to know when to say 'no' and mean it? I think most strippers hate what they do but don't know how to get out of the life and still earn the money they're used to.

You should do what you want to do and not let others tell you if you should or shouldn't...most strippers make good money and most clubs protect their employees...many strippers are paying their way through university with what they make and become CEO's of big corporations...so you decide what you need to do...and if any idiots tell you it is a sin or morally wrong...tell them that isn't true and for them to go take a cold shower!

No, not if it has a bad name, could be dangerous. Im sure you can get money some other way. there are far more reputable strip clubs that make sure the girls arnt pestered or touched by the clients. if you feel comfortable with doing that then why take second best???

Only if you're hot enough. Just kidding. I wouldn't if I were you. There isn't enough money in the world to take away my diginity like that. Especially a place that you say already has a bad reputation. Is that the kind of person you really want to be?

If you're not sure, I would say definitely no. It is degrading in a subtle way, even if you avoid the obvious effects of it, and the culture surrounding it has a way of sucking people in.

More to the point, money at disreputable places is usually pretty weak, and I've known a number of people to get depresed after working at them for a short while.
