If you are fluent enough in Spanish, then that should be fine. You'll have to do a PGCE after your BA though.

The majority of language graduates nowadays combine their degrees with business or some other 'related' field. It makes sense for nearly every career except teaching- they might ask to see some of your writing and maybe do a fluency test, but if you are confident that shouldn't be a problem.

If you live in Canada, ZERO. Spanish is a secondary subject in Canadian schools, so teachers must be qualified to teach another subject as well. Most teachers do Spanish Language and English Literature as their two subjects.

Also, don't count on getting a one-year "degree". A one-year CERTIFICATE maybe, but you'll be competing for jobs with people who have two full degrees.

you can probably be able to teach spanish, but don't expect to work in a university or a premier high school. the best thing would be shifting to a course that will best fit you.

As long as you have English and Maths at least grade C at GCSE and are educated to degree level you can do a PGCE after your degree.

If you are a spanish speaker, excellent. All you do is take a language exam, and if you are latino they really wont check at all. All you need is the BA in anything.

Youll need your PGC teacher training course on top of your degree, but there shouldnt be any real problems. If its what you wanna do go for it and dont give up.
