8 minutes

60/15 = It would take 4 minutes per mile, however, since the train is also a mile long, it would take twice the time, so 8 minutes.

there are 60 minutes in an hour right?
so figure out how many miles per minute the train can go....
15 divided by 60 = .25

So the train can go .25, or 1/4, a mile a minute.

Take 1 mile divided .25 and you get 4. So the train takes 4 minutes to get through the tunnel.

speed = distance / time

time = distance / speed
time = 1 mile / 15 miles per hour
time = 1/15 hours
time = 0.67 hours or 40.2 minutes
