I have been married for 13 years and have 2 children and I am very career oriented. My husband loves me more now then he did the day we married. Any open minded husband would be proud to have a very successful wife, mother of his children and worker.

Unfortunetly, there is some merit to that statement. I think statistically stay-at-home moms/non-working wives tend to divorce less, but that's most likely due to lack of (finanacial options). I think the issue is that the man neds to see his wife as an equal rather then a threat to his manhood that might relieve the stress right now. I'm a 26 y/o female lawyer and that has lead to a lot of problems in finding a guy...so tell your species to give us professional women a break!

The Bible speaks of the Proverbs 31 Woman...

She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.
She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants. ...

and with all this work, in the home and out...her husband and children rise up and call her Blessed....
The question is not whether she is career oriented...its is she Christ oriented? You find a Prov 31 woman and the Bible says "her worth is far above rubies".

God Bless you and keep you.

I don't think so. The ones who are soap opera addicted couch potatoes that can't control the children or cook, spend money like it grows on trees, and always wanting more....now those are the bad ones.

I would think they make better wives. They're not at home being lazy moochin' off someone else.

Yes, but only if they have kids. Married without children, not a problem.
