The name of the Pharaohs' tumb found in 1922, that most people today refer to as king Tut. Was born with the name Nebkheperure. Son of the Pharah Amenhotep IV ,who changed is sons name to Tutankhaten when he changed his own to - Akhenaten. Then the Pharaoh closed all the temples of the other gods saying there was only one god.
When forced to Abdicate in favor of his son. The Priests of the temple of Isis changed the boy kings name to signify a renewed allegiance to Amun - Ra.
Thus he became TUTANKHAUMN.
The 11 year old boy carried this name to the throan in 1361 BC and from the throan in 1352 BC. And into eternity.
Untill his so called grand discovery in 1922 by a man named Howard Carter.
Using Lord Carvins' money, which was runing out and Carter had been notified that there would not be another season of digging because nothing had been found! In the previous four seasons. (4 years.)
From the numerous photographs of the time, that Lord Carvin insisted on, there is every indication that Carter had found the toumb eariler. Then saved it. Getting as much digging done in the valley as he could while Lord Carvin was willing to pay.
Then once the GREAT discovery was made Lord Carvin made all the finicial arrangements for the collection. While Carter now used the photographer doccumenting everything in the toumb, the wall paintings, the dust on the tresures and the desicated flower wreaths left by the morniers.before it was removed
