Yes and no... There is sometimes where a feeling hits you like a bolt of lightening when you meet someone, but I don't know that it can be called love. That feeling, intuition or instinct strikes and you know something is different or special, but love is a combination or things that takes a little longer to cultivate. Love is when there is respect, faithfulness, trust, friendship and compassion from both people. You can't know that all these components are present the moment you meet someone, but I think our sub-conscience can sense that the possibility is there and gives us that neat euphoric feeling like we've just found gold. It was how I felt when i met my husband. We were still in high school and the moment he said hello, I knew I wanted to be his girlfriend and in less than two weeks I knew we would get married someday.... and we did. We have now been together for 19 years and will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary in September.

Definitly not. It is in fact lust at first site. Anyone whos sais different, think about it, how can you love someone you do not know? They can seem the the most attractive and sweet person from afar but will you still "love" them after they beat you or molest children?

Oh and if it really is love, and you believe in love at first site, than you wouldnt be getting divorced or breaking up with the person.

And I think if it is real, it only counts if the other person feels exactly the same way.

Hi, Amanda,
I think, it's definitely possible to lust at first sight... I think love usually takes a little longer, though.... The way I think of it, lust is desire for the body... If you've only seen them, that's the extent of it... Love is (among other things) appreciating their personality, something that is hard, maybe impossible, to judge just from their outward appearance.... The good news is, lust isn't necessarily a bad thing... It often leads to love since it gets you to spend more time learning about their "non-visible gifts"... ;D
>>>>>>>>

Possible exceptions to love at first sight :
a parent's love.. for a newborn ;)
you've been chatting on line and just met them, "face to face" ..

>>>>
Sure, you can 'love' the way someone looks, but you cant love them.. because you don't "know them"!
>>>>>>>>

I hope this helps!
I wish you, lots of luck..and love!! ;D

Thanks, for the question!;)

My regards!

Yes, profoundly yes! This may be because life's experience of trying out, getting to know, different men, seems to leave one with a blueprint of one's perfect man and should this man make an appearance you're forever hooked; though I suspect the chance is about equivalent as winning the national lottery. And a good deal more painful... as your love may not be reciprocated.

It's probably more sensible to fall gradually and mutually in love...a kind of give and take of interests feelings and desire.

Chemistry plays a huge part on lust then love. It is actually the chemistry then you just fall heads over heels in love. It's a physical, mind and soul expierence. Wow what a feeling. Like cupid shot his arrow right into you.

Yes. With an open mind you can love on first sight. You can love whenever you choose.

Yes, when the pre-existing karmic connection between the two of you is strong, and first sight reawakens what is to your souls a long-established relationship.

Only if you're a very romantic numpty or have been sitting on the shelf too long. In fact love at second, third or fourth sight can be equally treacherous!
