Who cares what other people think? If you're happy with who you are then stick to being you. Don't let others get to you just because they can't keep their mouth shut. As for the outfit, wear it. Who knows you might even get complimented. Take the risk

If you are in elementary or middle school, it may be a little too much for your age.
High school or college, then it's fine.

A black tank with a black patterned skirt wouldn't be goth since there is so much color to the outfit. Black was around and being worn long before there ever were "goths" or "emos".

Just try it on and look in the mirror. If you like the way it looks, then wear it. Ignore the stupid people, or point out that in no way is that a goth/emo outfit since the skirt and belt are bright and cheerful. Bright and cheerful colors aren't a part of either of those styles. In addition, your hair and makeup aren't either of those.

I doubt that most intelligent people wouldn't make the mistake just based on one color. They should know the difference if they've seen it before.

honey, if you feel comfortable in it you should go for it .screw what anybody else says if someone wants to judge you they must have a problem with their self ,and they should get a life. if you like how you look that's all that matters, besides it sounds like a real pretty outfit. i love skirts .and if you wear some cute flip flops that might make it look more casual. good luck.

i've never known cotton to be too dressy for anything. the outfit sounds cute, in the end, you are the one wearing it, so if you like it, who cares what other people think. no matter what you wear, people will have an opinion on it, so if it makes you happy , go for it!!
