i am not american i am jamaican i know JMD is no good there so i was hoping they accept $USD

As of now, you must exchange the US dollar for a Cuban Convertible Peso. There is a 10% lien on it as well, so your dollar is worth slightly less. Might want to change your US dollars into Canadian dollars first and then into the CUP's. US dollars are no longer legal tender, even though some Cubans might still use them.

Just a side note: Are you a first generation descendant of a Cuban in American? Otherwise it is a Federal law that you cannot travel there if you are an American Citizen - the only exception would be the one listed above. If your passport shows you have a Cuban entry stamp, on your return into the US you have the possibility of being jailed for your Federal crime.

Yes you can use it in Cuba and yes again you can use it anywhere.
