I think that you should not really pay attention to what Pele and Maradona say. Apparently, these past football "legends" are really no good as judges of players. Also, I think that they're just backing different people as a sign of patriotism, Robinho is from Brazil and Messi is from Argentina and Pele and Maradona go in the same order too.
If you really want to know, you just have to go on Youtube to watch compilation videos of the two. As an asides, there's this really lovely Greatest Hits dedicated to Robinho. Guess what it's called...

I don't know about Messi, I've never watched him play, but Robinho is truly amazing!

Both players are good. Messi is a young and talented player
and he plays well for Agentina. However, Robinho is a famous
and experienced footballer. Everytime he plays, he commands
respect from his mates and cheers from the crowd.
