How many times on average do you hear vapid, idiotic girls say the word like and supplement everthing they type with LOL or OMG. Are you one of those girls? Is this what you call "Just a habit?"
The reality is that this habit you posess is not by accident. You copy the lame things you hear your friends say and eventually it becomes your vocabulary staple.
So how many times on average do you say/hear people say these extremely lame things?

The majority of people who use these words are girls and the majority of people with penises are male.
Statistics never hurt anyone so get a ******* clue.

Just kidding. What I can't stand listening too is people who use the word "f*ck" so much that there's hardly anything being said.

I don't like them myself but I think you are generalizing when you say it's a thing girls do.
The fact is that people tend to do what others do so that they feel "in", with a group, an age group or a fashion.
However a few are original and tend to do the opposite and reason with our own minds instead of following fashion.
What's right and what's wrong - who knows, they're probably both right and wrong and just different reactions.

Honestly, I haven't heard the term "like" used in quite a while...Really, since shortly after the song "Valley Girl" came out (do you remember Sarah Jessica Parker in "Square Pegs"?).
But, like, I know how easy it is to totally introduce the, like, stupidest thing right into your vocabulary. Like, OMG, isn't it soooo how everyone talks?

Like, it's soooo not just girls. Like, one day, like I heard a DUDE using that word, like in every sentence. There's even like a commercial on tv where like these two guys are in a car and like one of them is telling the other one not to like use "like" so much. Then they get into a like, accident. OMG
Stop, like generalizing and making it sound like it's just females using that word.... LOL

What is even more annoying is hearing them actually say "LOL" or "OMG" as though they were words when they are talking to each other!!

Gosh yes it is annoying.
However, I have been infected by the deadly Dan Cruikshank disease and I say "gosh" and "golly" a lot at things I admire and also at things that horrify me.
