Oh, WOW. Like the first responder said. That certainly took me on a ride back through time. Thanks, I needed that. lol

That's exactly how you do it & I used to love to decorate my with flowers, stickers, and all kinds of colors. (For art & such) For more serious studies, like pre-law...I made the book cover look like some legal document with mostly lettering work.

We also used to use left over art paper, like those crazy sheets of spiraling colors....which you can also duplicate by coloring on a paper bag, but it's not quite as shimmery and pretty.

1. Cut the bag on one of the creases in it's side-all the way to the bottom.
2.Cut out the bottom.
3. Lay the book out flat on the open paper (hold the pages so it will lie flat).
4. Have someone else trace the book's shape on the paper.
5. Cut at least 2" larger than the tracing to get your shape
6. Lay the book flat again and start folding the paper around the book and taping into place. Leave a little extra space so when the book closes your cover will not rip.

First open the paperbag down the seam so that it is completely laid out flat.
Place the book, opened, on the flattened out sack. Cut to shape, but leave a good couple of inches all around. Then fold the top and bottom of the cut bag so that its the same size as the book. Then fold each end so that its slightley longer than the book on each end. The ends of each book cover should be able to actually slide into the fold, then all you have to do is put tape where the top and bottom fold over each other.
It sounds more complicated than it is, once you get started you will see how it all comes together!
Good luck!

First cut off the bottom of the bag. You should have what looks like a square with a hole in the bottom and top. Then, make one cut from top to bottom and lay the cover flat. Next, lay the book over the cover and fold down the top and the bottom to match, do the same with the sides and tape them

Open a large grocery paper bag....With the book open trace the book on the bag.

you will need to leave extra room 1/1/2in around the edges on the sides so you can fold in and tape!

Then Decorate!!

hahaha ur school started before mine!!

1)cut one of the sides off the front or back of bag
2) place book on writing side
3)fold the top and bottom of the bag so its even with the book (fold it like an inch so you have a smooth edge on it/thick edge)
4)do the same to the side ...except! you fold it an inch in and between the fold/creace slide the cover on(while books open)
5)Tape it for support
6) do on other side
7)if needed tape some more loose spots

good luck and i dont wanna go to school myself :-( 11th grade here i come!!

wow

old skool
first make sure you cut the paper bag to lay flat
second use a pencil to outline your book
Third Cut maybe two inches above the drawn lines on the sides
fourth fold bottom and top
fifth fold sides over so they llok like the book covers will fit in them
sixth fit cover in to fold
seventh decorate with odd drawing sayings whatever you like

enjoy

that took me back

WAAAAYYY back

thanks
