I'm not sure about CT but i know that in order to evict someone they must give written notice and then they will have to get a court order to make you move. It can take up to 110 days to evict someone

Sorry, you don't own the house and surely have no right to hold it hostage from the people that lawfully own it.
One thing you have to comes to grips with is unless you have a lease, they don't owe you anything.
You can be the nicest person in the world but that doesn't matter. Business is business and in a capitalist society such as ours, compassion is more often than not out weighed by $$$$$.
Don't grovel or make trouble, remember that these owners may have input when you try to get a new place. Hold your chin up, be proud and find another place to live. Last thing you want is an eviction on your credit report.
Put your self in their shoes for a moment. You just inherited a home, you see that you can do much better than the rents you are getting by either selling it or raising the rent....But now you have tenants trying to force you from doing whats best for you, the OWNER.
Yeah, I don't think you would be very happy with that...and yes that makes you a hypocrite. Sorry, but the truth sometimes hurts.
Oh and to answer some one Else's question "How can some one throw out their mother?"
Simple, if mom is not paying enough rent and the owners can't afford to pay the mortgage what are they suppose to do? Go into foreclosure and loose the home? Moms now out any ways and the owners just pissed away a home they could have sold and ruined their credit. So with that in mind, what would you do? Use the proceeds of the sale to help your mom? GOOD! Now your thinking logically instead of emotionally. Two very different things.

Yes, they can evict you and their mother if they rightfully own the house and you are not under a lease for a time certain. Your having children in school does not factor into your delema, although you may be able to use that fact as a way to garner pitty from a judge.
Eviction is a legal process, which may include an opportunity for you to appear in court and ask the judge to not allow the eviction. Generally, eviction without cause requires more notice than eviction for cause, like not paying rent. The whole process from the initial notice to when you have to move out can be anywhere from 30 days to six months, depending on where you live.

Just to be clear, the children cannot evict you. That is, they cannot, until you violate your lease or the law, get a court order for you to leave. They can, and I suspect did, give you notice that they are terminating the lease and that you must leave the premisis by a particular date. That is perfectly legal and is not eviction.

There's a difference between eviction & termination of a lease. Unless there is a rent control ordinance that overrules, If you have a written lease for a term, they have to respect the term; if not they can terminate at any time & you'll have to vacate.

That's awful! How can someone throw their mother out? Anyway, wouldn't the wife get the house? You need to check on this but I'm sure the wife or the kids mom should already have possesion of the house.
