I am not popular, but I'm not unpopular either. I am happy just the way I am. I'm telling you, being popular isn't all it's cracked up to be!! They are really self conscious and worry about what other people say and think about them. Just be yourself (I know this isn't what you want to hear), but trust me. I had the same problem you have and I have come to the realization that I do not suck as much as I thought. Just as long as you have nice, healthy friends you will be all right. Besides the people who weren't very popular become the best people after school and remember the most people doesn't have contact with their school friends!! Although I know it would be nice to be friends with a whole lot of them now...

Believe me, this wont be dumb! When i was in 4-6th grades, I used to want to be popular SO bad! I would hang out with the popular kids, and try to get them to like me. Now, im in 8th grade, and i am kinda popular! My secret? Be nice. Dont try to hard, or youll look bad. Wear clothes that are "in", but dont copy the popular girls. Dont be afraid to sit with them at lunch, and make conversation! Maybe even ask them to go to the mall or something. Chances are, even the popular kids have a little bit of "geek" inside them. For example, one popular kid in my grade is in the gifted and talented program in school. (so am i, thats how we became friends) she had braces, pimples, and frizzy hair (other than that, though, shes really pretty) shes only popular because shes friends with LOTS of kids, and shes really nice. Just remember, "You can brighten any minute by the sunshine you put in it" BE NICE!

First off, I am sorry you feel you need to be popular...
assuming your in highschool(only highschoolers care about that nonsense)
1)Join cheerleading Team...just associating with them will do it
2) If your not the "cheer"ful person, then join the biggest school club, and make your self noticed, speak up, crack jokes...
3) Dances....go to every one and DANCE! Even if you can't dance, be the first person out there, no one can make fun of you if you were the first one out there....and if they do, then they are not the type of people you need...nor should you want, and if there is a guy you want to dance with, ask him...because they usually won't...
...Being "popular" is nice in someways...a lot of friends, everyone SEEMS to like you, however when everyone knows you, there are fewer secrets that you can keep, privacy is lossed and drama is caused...trust me, been there done that...I played with the jocks, I chilled with the losers, F*** with the band geeks....
In the end it all about how you want to be looked at..."One is known by the ones they know..." It means people know you for the people you hangout with...(i.e. You hang out with stoners, your known as a stoner)

You need to be yourself with out acting all goofy. You have to show that you are a leader to follow so that people will follow you. If they follow you they think you are popular. Also let the in crowd come to you or show off something cool in front of them with out making it seem like that is your intentions. But remember popularity isn't everything! PS Don't hurt someones feelings in the process because that will ruin you reputation forever.

You don't become popular by acting like it you are popular only if you are around friends who really like you Trust me It is the same way with me then i stopped acting like it then ppl started likeing me for who i am

Take genuine interest in people you know and meet. People of all types like to talk about themselves and their likes/dislikes - be a good listener and take some interest in those you know and you will be a very popular person.

First, you gotta stop thinking for yourself. Second, find a group of people who don't think for themselves and imitate them (clothing, hobbies, the way they talk, etc.) Third, date a really popular guy (that'll really up your status, double points if you do him and admit to it.) Finally, don't get a job, don't start a band, don't write poetry, don't study, don't do anything that could resemble you being creative or worthwhile............POOF......instant popularity.....
