Like..instead of AOL Browser you make your Default internet Browser Internet Explorer. When you click on a link it usually opens it with your default browser

Go to Start >> Set Program Access and Defaults.
You can adjust default programs there.

go to tools - internet options then programs tab along the top and check Internet explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser

Control Panel, Internet Options will take you to you Internet Properties and find where you can type in the URL you want to be your home page.

top of the window click on Tools>Internet Options>Homepage; type the site you want as default>click enter>DONE!

each browser has a setting. firefox - options ->'check now' will do it. ie, not sure

go to internet options and go to where it says homepage and type in what you want your homepage to be and then hit ok.
