Yes. Start timing the 'pains' and see if there's a pattern to it.

It could be labor or it could be the baby's head pushing on a nerve. Time them next time you feel them, and if the pains come every 4-6 minutes or closer, go get checked to find out! Just as a warning, I had false labor 3 times, and false labor never felt different from the beginning of the real thing. If it turns out it is not labor, please don't feel bad or stupid about going to the hospital unsure. It is much better to go and find out you are not in labor than to stay home too long if you are in labor!

You are probably just having what they call Braxton Hicks, which is like fake labor. Believe me you'll know when you're in labor. You get what feels like the worst menstrual cramps in the universe. That's what it felt like for me anyway and I had no question about it. But, if you're still not sure you may want to go to the hospital in case. The worst case is that they'll just send you home. Better to be safe then sorry though.

could but when it is labor you really will know, have you thought about it being the baby dropping down getting ready to deliver and she/he has gotten to a spot were your not use to having pressure and now is causing your back to hurt a little? If it keeps up just tell your doctor at next weeks appointment.

Usually the back pain comes with contractions for it to be labor. I might just be the extra weight of being pregnant getting to you if you are not also having contractions (even mild ones).

could be. I didnt have strong pains when I went into labor with my first one. I thought it was braxton hicks contractions. I went to the doctor and I was dialated at 8. Time them. If they are closer than 5 mins apart it wont hurt to be checked out.

I think so. You are probably going into labor. Start timing them from start to start and you will know how far apart they are.

Could be, or your body getting ready for delivery, or the weight of late pregnancy.
