The fox unit obviously is hooked to t.v, the video machine is hooked to fox and we also have a ps2 hooked up to the t.v. I have tried everyway I know how and it still doesn't work, I just get fuzz. It used to work until my eldest son moved video machine and then put it back, now doesn't work. I cannot afford to buy movies I just like to give my 5 year old something different to watch and this is the only way. When it did work and I pressed record on the video remote it would actually show on the tv screen that it was starting by showing REC:0.00 and then would start, but now it doesn't show the REC at all and doesn't record. Please if anyone can help me i would be very appreciative.

Fox is on AV1, PS2 on AV2 & AV3 is prog. for commercial TV prog. Have to use TV rem. using TV/VCR button to change between these. To play a video have to turn foxtel unit off then video plays on the AV1 channel that foxtel progrs. are normally on. This is my first time using this Q&A group on Yahoo, so I don't really know if I'm doing it right but I wanted to respond to answers I got from musicman5537 and mykebodean1 to see if you guys could possibly have answer to this setup.

Okay, let me give you some things to do.
First connect the cable from your source (either satellite, cable TV or outside antenna) to the VCR. The VCR connection will say "from antenna". Then the other connector should say "TO TV". Once you have the two cables hooked up, put the TV on Channel 3, then try changing the channels with the VCR remote.
If this doesn't work, press the button on the remote that says TV/VCR. You must be able to change the channels with the VCR remote. Always leave the TV on channel 3. Oh, almost forgot. You need to program the channels into the VCR. Your VCR instruction manual should have a Chapter showing how to program your TV channels into the VCR memory. It's a simple process where you press a button and you will physically see the channels on your TV screen going from 01 to however many channels are in your area. Once done you will be able to change channels with your VCR. Again, always leave the TV tuned to channel 3.

Check to see what channel number the VCR is set to it should be set to either Cannel 3 or 4. Then it should work. If the VCR is on channel 3 or 4 push the TV/Video or Line In button on the VCR remote and see if that works. If these two things don't work I don't know what else it could be. Unless your son hooked the cables into the VCR backwards if the above things don't work. Pull the VCR out, and switch the cables to opposite of what they are now. Hope this helps.
