Certainly you can if they are both the same basic substance,,,IE Latex or oil, but I can't imagine why you'd want to.
Thousands of gallons of paint later,,, I did try that on at least one occasion, when I was running short of a color. The result is that the semi gloss will dull down.
Not knowing your objective, I suggest don't!!!
Satin has enough agents in it by itself that enhance durability and clean-ability. Semi gloss has a specific purpose as well, why diminish or disrupt that purpose?

My experience has been that these are two different paint bases.
Gloss, semi gloss, satin, flat. Depending what mood u want to paint rms. Bathrms, kitchens..these usually take gloss, thereby use can clean easily these rms. Bedrms, living rms u can use semi, or satin paints. Semi like gloss are paints u can clean stains off walls etc.If u like your bedrm colors soft, then try satin paints. Use can by a gallon of semi gloss or satin, and by a tube of your favorite color base and mix the desired amt, till u get the color u like. Make sure u prep walls with a good semi or satin primers. Test your mix paint on a small surface of wall, before u begin painting. Hope this helps.

you can mix them but they are not going to be semi gloss or satin as long as you like the sheen you get have fun and experiment...please make sure it is the same brand as two brands may cause an unsavory affect since no one company uses the same recipe for paints

Yes you can. However, you must mix enough paint to do the entire job because you will never get the formula the same again.

Yes. They may have slightly different viscosities but they are both oil-based paints.

If they are both oiled based, yes!
If they are both water based, yes!
Don't try to mix them is one is oil and the other water based.
