i live and travel in this it's is my only home and i am on ssi so i can not afford it...

go to hotbot.com search engine. type in rv salvage. several salvage yards should come up. I found several sites in the Indiana area as well in the states of Washington and Arizona. Since a lot of rv's are manufactured in Indiana, there seem to be more rv salvage yards in that state. A lot of the sites have an index with drop downs to help navigate to the part you are looking for. They also have good pictures of the part most of the time.

You might also consider buying new, since yours is quite old.. If you do buy a used one, it'll likely be in the same condition as yours, just before it blew! A 17yo water heater is just that.....a 17yo water heater.
