Well, try to think about yourself and what has happened in your life to shape the person you have become. "Having an impact" doesn't necessarily mean a "good" thing. It could be someone who beat you up in grammar school and taught you to stand up for yourself (or to run from trouble!) It could be an author who wrote a particular book that changed your perspective in some way. It could be an actor in a movie who moved you to tell someone you loved them, or break up with a bf/gf... The point here is, don't just think of the big, obvious stuff: my mom, my dad, my teacher, my grandma, etc etc (unless there is truly a great story to be told there). Think back to a day that you experienced some kind of extreme emotion: happiness, sadness, fear, anxiety, love, hate. (Strong emotions always help put the ink in a writer's pen!) Once you can think of a true "red-letter" day, try to remember if there was any one person in particular but for whom the experience would not have happened...and write about how that person had an impact on your life on that particular day.

Has no one had an impact on your life? Has anyone taught you about kindness or love? Have you known someone that perhaps overcame a serious illness or tragedy, and you admired their attitude and spirit through it? Has there been a teacher in your life that taught you more than just math or English? Maybe you know someone in your community who has little, but always seems to give to others? If so, did their behavior impact you?

Give some thought to all the people you know or have known, and think about what they've taught your or shown you about Life. I'm sure you'll come up with something really groovy for your essay. :)

First Figure out who in your life has made an impact ...Maybe start your essay with a memory Example: (My father shot me a funny look when I pounced out of the middle of a snow mound wearing his tube socks as mittens. Now that I am an adult I can still get that same look when I do silly things.) Then somehow connect it to the impact while also painting a picture of the relationship you share with this person. The reader has to be able to feel your feelings...good luck

ok, well, almost anyone that you have ever met can have an impact of your life. try to focus on parents, aunts & uncles, and even friends! for me, my friends impact my life a lot, so i would start with something like what the first person said, and write a little about that person or whatever. then i would end with something like, I'm glad i met (name), and if i hadn't met he/she, my life would be a lot different then it is today.

hope that helped!

How about writing about how a parent and their actions and beliefs can impact your life.

You could write about different parenting skills and how they would impact your life in different ways.
Sort of like the difference between a child who is homeless or abused and a child who is raised in a loving caring environment.

First, decide who it is that impacted your life. Then perhaps you could start with:

The day that I met_____, changed my life forever, although I didn't know it at the time.

Hope that helps.
