You cannot TOUCH the net, but your racquet CAN go over it as long as it's just the follow through. E.g. if you volley a ball on your side of the net, but your follow through goes over the net, BUT DOES NOT TOUCH IT, it is legal and you are not penalized. If you hit the ball on your opponent's side of the net or you touch the net, then you are penalized.

Yes but you must not TOUCH the net.

In regards to the question in the link I posted below:

* If I play a volley close to the net, hit the ball in my half of the court, but then allow my racket to follow-through and go over the net, am I penalized?

No, but again you must make sure you don't touch the net.

Read up before thumbing down dumb-****.

No way. A player and the racquet has to remain behind the net at all times.

What??????

Of course the racket can go over the net as long as it does not touch it.

I play and teach tennis and I have seen it in so many tournaments. It is ok.

No. You cannot touch the net either or it is a disqualification of the point. If you cross or touch the net, you lose the point.

I learned that the hard way.

no, The Net Is just "Cyberspace" (Not Crossable By Whole Physical Molecules and elements) And A Player Or Raquet are such physical things.
