seriously, what the hell is with Anime? why the hell do people like that crap? the horridly animated people, the outlandish and completely absurd situations, the absolutely HORRIBLE voice over work....what in hell is the attraction?

I TOTALLY agree with you...and it's hard because I'm in the graphic design profession and I swear everyone in college loved it and then I thought when I worked in the "real world" people might have taste...but everyone in this business is crazy about that crap. My theory is that the "artsy" people find the colors and lines and ethnicity of it cool for some reason. It drives me insane. I can't count the times I was invited to like, anime/manga parties in college and grad school and had to weasel my way out of it. Yeah, let's sit around someone's living room on a mildew-y loveseat drinking microbrews and watching **HORRIBLE** animation. I've always hated it...to me it looks and sounds cheap...just like you said.
I'm thankful there's someone else who can't stand it...I was beginning to think I had to hide my real feelings forever.
