I am 39-40 weeks pregnant i have been having contractions for like a month but the doctor just keeps sending me home! i am so miserable and i know you should just have it naturally without inducing but you have to understand that i have had false contractions for that long and i am exhuasted! i want my doctor to induce me! what do you think please only true nice comments need to be made!

when I oficially went into labor my water broke and shortly there after I started to have a back ache and bad cramps. I know how miserable you must feel especially in summer. My daughter was born in February so it wasn't hot but it's still rough when pregnancy gets to the end. Another tell tale sign is if you normally have no energy and all of a sudden have the urge to get up and make a big dinner or clean the house. I had no energy towards the end and I all of a sudden had the urge the night before she was born to go make a batch of choclate chip cookies. I've also heard of women from somewhere in GA I think it was eating egg plant parmessean from a specific restraunt and it made them go into labor within 48 hours. I don't know if it's that specific recipe or somethin about that dish in particular. Good luck!!

well Hun I'm a mother of six kids and i had two of them induced cuz i was two weeks over due i had three c- secs and the rest natural. and you asked how dues it feel when labor starts well its contractions that are coming about every five to three min apart consistently for more than an hour . and there is a pressure in lower back and you can lose your mucus plug its a bloody show that comes out and also your water can break before you get to hosp however that never happened to me my water always broke at hosp or they broke it for me to bring on labor also they can give you potosin or oxytocin to induce labor . but bottom line hun you will know when your really in labor no question

I am still pregnant with my first and I haven't been in labor yet but what I can tell you is that if the pain gets closer and closer together go to the hospital!!!
I know it's frustrating to go and than get sent home but it's better safe than sorry I have been sent home 3 times already and I will not even hesitate to go back if I even think I am in labor.
Good luck with the baby!

I thought I was in labor a couple of times but was sent home instead of having a baby. it was my first baby so I didn't know what to expect. When the real thing finally happened it was 3 am in the morning, I waited for a couple of hours to wake my husband till I knew for sure. Mine felt like really really severe menstrual cramps. I think you should call your Doctor and tell them your symptoms and see what he/she suggests. Good luck and try to be patient it will be over soon!!

I had my daughter at 39 weeks. The contractions kicked in every 5mins. Hours after that, they were 2mins apart. They started in my back, and were unbearable! I remember not feeling the baby move during that time...so dont worry. Go to the hospital, but call her doc first. It could be that time! Congrads!

The first part of my labor felt like a mild but insistent back ache. I'd been brought to the hospital for induction but they put he monitors on me beforehand and said "look, that's a contraction--you're in labor." At that time I just thought my back was sore, lol.

i went into labor at 38 weeks. It was the day after thanksgiving of last year. At fast i felt little flutters that had a sharp kick to them me thinking that braxton hicks were coming i put my legs up on th wall. they kept coming and getting stronger so i called the advice nurse who informed me that if i was laughing I was doing ok. I was told to get in the shower why why why did she tell me to do this about 5 minutes into the shower i got the worse pain of my life. Oh I thought someone stabbed or shot me. I shot out of the shower and threw my clothes on and woke up my mom. I was like mom its time its time come on she was like "Girl please you in false labor" While trying to convince her that i was in real labor those contractions were whooping my ***. I went outside in the cold weather and paced up in down the block. My mom on the other hand lost the keys to car so i had to call the ambulance a waste of 2 thousand dollars. I got to the hospital and was informed I wasnt going to be given an epidural until i filled out pages and pages of paperwork those bitches lol. Those contraction on the monitor go from 40 to 200 the nurse couldnt get the iv in O god finally I got the big needle that evryone warned me about yeah right I only felt the itty bitty numbing needle which felt like being poked for a blood test. She put the epidural needle in my back and that was that. I went to slep for like 2 hours woke up pushed about 4 times and viola a 6.2 baby boy. When I was told from day one I was told I was having a girl.

I had both my kids at 42 weeks (induced). That's the max they'll be in there and then you'll be induced. Don't be paranoid, but expect more pain getting induced. Most cases, being induced is faster. I had my first one in 20 minutes once induced. I had my son in one hour. No pain killers. ;) You'll be alright.
