It means "cube root"

The square root sign really has a small 2 on the left side but we don't bother writing it down. So if a*a = b the square root of b = a.

In this case if c*c*c = d, then the cube root of d = c. It is the same as saying d to the 1/3 power.

It means the cube root of the number. So what number times itself three times will give you the number under the square root? e.g. 3 is the square root of 27. 3x3x3=27

i believe that's a cube root. same as a 1/3 exponent. The answer gives the number that you multiply by itself 3 times to get what's under the root sign.
