Or what about when they say "The world is your oyster" what the hell is that supposed to mean? that the planet i've lived on for more than 20 years is nothing more than a giant sea creature?

Yes and I also hate it when people say things like 'you can make your dreams happen' If they saw some of my dreams they'd be very grateful that I can't.

Thanks for making me laugh!

I would imagine it was mentioned to cheer you up. The real question here is did it ? or not ? If it did it was succesfully said if it was not maybe they should try to understand your problem better and then offer hope and support not just speak without thinking.

I agree everything is not possible but a huge majority of things are.

No, because it's a true statement.

The tragedy is the fact that we limit ourselves, and that we even forget how we've limited ourselves.

And just because something cannot be done by one person alone doesn't mean it cannot be done by many people working together. That doesn't make the task impossible. It just requires a team effort.

Where did you get such a negative attitude? Nothing is impossible if you try. I couldn't work next to some with your defeatist attitude. I sure hope you grow out of that mindset. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish with a positive attitude.

Yes - I penned a little rant on "positive thinking." Being upbeat is all very well, but there IS such a word as can't, and pretending that there isn't is just silly.

I always think... "If nothing's impossible why didn't you think of a better way to motivate me!"

Oh yes. You can't beat the quick comeback. I ask them to show me how to do it. Soon shuts 'em up.
