For those of you that work on a computer all day, how much of your time is spent surfing the internet (not for work-related research)?

Do your co-workers/employers have a casual internet policy, and they don't really care as long as you're getting your work done, or are they really strict in the sense that if you get caught, you'll probably get fired?

I spend like half the day on the internet, seriously. The sad thing is, it used to take two people to do my job, and I do everything that those two people did, play on the internet, pay my bosses bills and do online homework and still end up bored.

I probably use the internet (non-work) about 30-45 minutes per day. There are times where I'll check for best vacation prices during lunch, but mostly just checking emails, and replying if I can do it quickly.

I read an article about a guy that got fired, and then sued because it was never in his contract or job description. I am on ALL DAY LONG and my work doesnt suffer so why would anyone care.

The guy fought and won, claiming it did not interfere.
