What will it take to stop the bloodshed? What will it take for everyone to realize that this is so rediculous? What does it matter what religion you are or where you're from? Is it worth killing someone over? Is it worth American and other international forces getting killed over? WHY? WHY? WHY?????? This is CRAZY!!!! Please put a stop to this. This is madness that is giving birth to madness. It's a cycle that won't end. First Afghanistan, then Iraq, then Iran and who knows what's next??!!

It will end when the American public realizes what the war is about, and kicks out those responsible. Bush started these wars so that oil and defense companies could make billions of extra dollars in profit.

Despite all the smoke screens, this conflict is all about oil and controlling influence in the Arabian oil fields. The conflicts will continue until you make it clear to your representatives that you want an energy independent American.
MorgantonNC below has his history a bit confused. Nixon withdrew from Vietnam. Nixon was a Republican. I'm a Vietnam vet and remember it quite well.

who knows what's next?...I KNOW...because they've told us...WE'RE NEXT! Would you like to be one of the first blown up in a shopping mall? Don't you get it?...THIS IS A WAR....and wars don't end until someone wins...short term or long term...there must be a winner. You type on yahoo!answers because other brave men and women fought and died for that privilege. HONOR THEM! War isn't pretty...people die and things get broken. Thank God it is not you or I that have to do the fighting. SUPPORT THOSE WHO DO! As it reads on the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC, "Freedom isn't Free". It comes at a very high price...and that's the way it is!

The war against jihadist fascism will end after the U.S. is victorious at defeating our enemies. Only then will there be peace. You have to realize that sometimes fighting a war actually reduces bloodshed. When the Democrats cut-n-run in Vietnam, 3,000,000 people were massacred.

Sometime after GWB leaves office because he seems incapable of admitting a mistake was made in this instance.

Edit: Just noticed that Afghanistan bit - Afghanistan is a justified war, Iraq is not. No mistake going into Afghanistan, big mistake going into Iraq.

This war will not end. An army cannot defeat terrorist. If all of the good nations will enlist the support of their citizens in neighborhood watches, the terrorist can be identified and destroyed. We can't even get our government to slow everyone down to save fuel because their interest is to get as much money out of the people as they can. They do not care about the people or the country ... just money and power.

When there is nobody left in the world who wants to harm anyone else.

Or when people finally snap out of the paranoid delusion and realize that haphazard uncoordinated violence is not a solution to what is essentially a conflict of ideas.
