What is it exactly failing at? Its too broad of a question.
Is it failing at upholding the general electoral process? No its not. I might not agree with the Kentucky Blue Grass farmer on who should run the country, but we both agree that the electoral process is something that must be abided by. We have had election results that would pulled other countries apart. (For those who cry fraud, and believe me I was on the losing end on 2004, the fraud here is very low)
Is it failing at protecting the public from capricous laws and arbitrary judgements? On the whole its not.
Is it failing to protect public safety and property? THough Katrina was a mucho burpo, it does not fail. You think not? Go buy a house. Is there a real concern that the government will take it from you with no compensation, or it will be taken from you like the farmers of Zimbabwe?
Is it failing to provide equal rights to all of its citizens? Yes it is failing, however, no society has even done so and things are alot better today than they were in the past. You think not? Okay, we'lll make you black and drop you off in North Carolina in 1910. You tell me if things improved or not.
Is it failing to provide a safe place to express your thoughts? No its not. I'm a card carrying ACLU libber and though I'd like to see some policy changes, we live in an extrodinarily open society which allows unhindered dissension and opposition.
Is it failing at providing a national identity? No its not. Our national identity is material accumulation and consumption, something which is meted out in spades. Our national identity is not a cultural touchdown. We do not share a single culture, but that was never expected.

Society is failing in terms of volunteerism. Many service clubs like Sertoma, Civitan, The Eagles, The Elks, Big Brother/Big Sister, are not getting any new members. It seems like the younger generation, or I should say those in their 30's and 40's, just don't seem to have the time to volunteer. Even at church, the men's and women's groups are just full of elderly folks and as they die off their children and grandchildren are not following in their footsteps.
Hope this helps. It's just an old lady's observation.

American society is failing. No society last forever but one has powerful and far reaching as America should at least last a few thousand years instead of a few hundred.

variety has failed because of the fact that's being shoved down our throats. And that's of no earnings. Is Japan various? China, Russia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, India? No. they at the instant are not flooded with multiple races. often they're doing the flooding and washing us away. no longer something incorrect with different races even nonetheless it on no account makes us extra helpful. Do you have any theory what proportion billions of dollars we are compelled to pay for this? Korea is populated with Koreans. Russia with Russians. England and France have been as quickly as super empires and there became 0 diversification there. there are a number of tiny international places in europe that are the effect of diverse ethnic communities no longer wanting to be diverse. Even right here they have a tendency to collect in ethnic neighborhoods. that's human nature. include variety is to incorporate self destruction. we are able to all stay peacefully at the same time as quickly as we admire one yet another. that would not recommend we would desire to continuously loose each little thing for someones else's earnings.

I don't think so, I CAN'T think so, I have to believe in our country! I realize that we have problems like every other nation. We hve certainly had our ups and downs - - but have you ever known any other country that is so loyal. Drive down the road and look at cars - how many bumper stickers say "Proud to be an American"? There are 11 American flags flying proudly on my block alone. No other country is the unique melting pot of cultures that we have in America. Those cultural differences sometimes cause us to clash but in the end we are all Americans. I realize this is goofy but play that Lee Greenwood song and watch any crowd in the USA you will see chill bumps on arms, tears in eyes, lumps in throats those emotions reflect the fabric of our culture.
We are not perfect but you won't find me moving to Iraq any time soon!

Yes because we don't provide good public education to our kids anymore, and we are not helping with all the reality shows which shows bad influence in our society, also we are running out of ideas such as movies for example we are redoing all of our older movies.

Yes as is proved by your question. Your on a computer asking strangers to do your work for you. What better sign could you ask for that society is failing its young than when someone ask for long answers so they do not have to do the work.

Couldn't say if our society is failing, the topic is way to broad. In what way are you defining failure and what are the specific areas within society that you're looking at?
