I suspect that given the typical American reactive politics, they will at least wait to see if the European Union is successful or not. Given that the EU consists of both economic powers and lesser-developed economies, this would make for a good litmus test to the desirability of a similar supranational government.
Personally, I think that Canada and the US can already consider merging their economies as the two countries have substantial trade between them. I can imagine unifying the two dollar currencies into a single North America dollar currency. The only question is will the notes be a boring green or like Monopoly money. :-) (No offence intended.)

It would resolve a lot of the problems in Mexico, don't know about Canada. But we don't know if America will still be the world power in 100 years.

i might might desire to circulate with the Vietnam conflict draft dodgers being allowed into Canada--I had to furnish Canada various admire for that. in case you bear in ideas in historical past, Vietnam became no longer even seen a conflict. those killed, and critically injured have been hardly venerated--and somewhat helped. And, the Veterans of foreign places Wars did no longer even enable Vietnam Vets into their business enterprise for some years. by using the way--the draft dodgers have been pardoned--some years later. If the draft starts back over Iraq--the comparable situation might upward thrust up--in elementary terms this time, i do no longer think of the U. S. will enable people who flee to Canada to flee with it. think of approximately it--we now pick a passport to circulate to Canada or Mexico by using airplane--and next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, we are able to circulate with passports to circulate there by using vehicle, bus, or the different potential.

The United States has not invited anyone to join them & Canada does not show any desire to join another country & no one wants to be responsible for Mexico.
I do not believe a hundred years will change the facts. We all want to strenghten one another financially, but not be one country..

There is as good a chance of the US and Canada splintering into smaller units. I would say that the odds are even right now.

I seriously doubt it. America would be the loser of that deal just like they were for NAFTA. I cant imagine Americans giving up their individualism and inheriting Canads socialism and Mexicos poverty.
