How do you feel about sex with a disabled person? Is it taboo to have an abled body person intimately involved with a disabled person? If so why? If not why does society seem so closed to this type of relationship?

Love is something that you feel within. If you love someone with all your heart for the right reasons, disabled or not, making love is something normal and natural. The older generations seem to be less open about relationships that involve mixed races or people with disabilities.. but like I said, if you are in love then go ahead and get it on =)

Normally no one does. Nothing stops any one taking kindly to a disabled person. But what kind of disability? If it is something related to genes then the progeny might inherit the same disability. If youare ok with all such cmplexities go right ahead.

Of course there's nothing wrong with it. If they love each other, there is no reason why they shouldn't be intimate.

People tend to look askance at it because they are uninformed about disability. They do not understand that people with disabilities need love and can have sexual feelings just like anyone else.

Why should that be a problem?

I perhaps shouldn't admit this but in the course of business, many years ago and in a town far away, I had to go to a woman's house. She was hobbling along really slowly and awkwardly searching for some papers. She asked if I could come back closer to the lunch hour. I hesitated because that would mess up my schedule. She smiled and said she would make me a sandwich. Well, I did come back and she did make me a sandwich. We finished our business and right after she signed the papers she said she had MS and that her husband had left her. She said she was going to her bedroom to undress and thanked me for coming back to take care of the business matter, but if I wanted to join her in the bedroom, I would be most welcome. I apologized and said I was married. Tears welled up and she said she understood, but added "I'm begging you to understand me too, you would be most welcome in my bed. I'm not worth much but you can have me for as long as you want."

I'm sorry to say, I didn't leave right away. She was most grateful.

That risky thing said to say this. One can be doing that and taking unfair advantage of someone, but the disabled person, as a willing, sometimes desperate, participant would tremendously appreciate your affections.

As for the rest, my father was a disabled veteran. He never got over losing the arm. But my mother made sure it was never an issue to her. Don't make it a problem if it isn't one.

i feel that it would be like sex with a "normal" person. society is against anything unusual...so why would this be any different. i feel that a relationship with a disabled person would be the same as one with anyone else.

It's not taboo, they have needs just like the rest of us. Now MENTALLY disabled is another matter entirely. They should not be taken advantage of.

Society does not care.

Being disabled does not make somebody any less worth being with.

As long as the disabled person is ok with it, what is the problem?

Society is closed-minded when it comes anything that is not the "norm". It's a good thing that in today's day and age we don't need the approval of "society" to do whatever makes us happy.
