Assuming your a seasoned traveller, with a backlog of articles
from your travels. You need to freelance your work to magazines,
Local & National News Papers, select current media topics that are currently doing the rounds. Mind you don't expect to get Paid,
getting the exposure will be your reward.
Get yourself a copy of the Writers & Artists Handbook, which lists all Publishers and Agents and is invaluable, above all keep writing you need to be able to produce a minimum of 1000 words per week. Writing's the easy part, marketing yourself is awesome!!!! You May Write that Book Eventually! Good Luck.

Most travel writers start out as freelance, meaning they go places, write about it, and try and sell their work to magazines or other publications. The best way to break into this is to get some expereince and get published through freelance work, then start submitting articles to travel publications. Many times, they'll hire you as a regular if you've given them some good work.

You obviously need to travel and write, but then when you're doing that you need to get published and paid: the tricky part! Helps to know someone in the business. PM me and I will give you some tips that I wouldn't share with just anyone.

First, learn to write succintly. Practice articulating what you really want. Your sentence is awkward and unnecessarily wordy. If you travel, and you write, you are a travel writer. I believe you want to find out how to get your prose published/accepted by travel magazines.

You'll have to be a talented writer. Proboably fund trips of your own and write about them at first and hope you get published!

Descend into a severe depression, become addicted to alcohol and numerous drugs, allow your weight to fluctuate, have a doomed romance and eventually turn up dead in your bathtub.
