snakes use poison to kill prey, most snakes don't eat until after their first shed which is usually around 7-10 days after hatching so they need to be venomous by then.

Yes it is. In fact it's actually more potent in younger snakes than older ones, reason being the poison gets diluted w/age because the diet dilutes it. Even though the snake will still produce venom all it's life.

I believe a lot of them do . . . the poison is present in sacs in their jaws when they are born/hatched . . . it is not something they aquire by say digesting flesh or plants of other creatures . . . they can also control whether or not their bites channel venom into their prey.

Yes they do and as a matter of fact a water machison is more deadly as a young snake because they can't control the volume of venum.

Snakes are venomous, not poisonous. Something is venemous if it has a sting or bite with poison in (like a venemous snake or a jellyfish etc)
It is poisonous if it has substances that make you ill when you eat it. (like a poisonous mushroom or frog).
Anyway, venomous snakes are venomous as soon as they hatch (or are born in the case of live breeding snakes). in fact their venom is often stronger in proportion to that of adult snakes.
