I wouldn't trade away because you would be giving up 2 players for one. It's tough drafting from the middle like that but heres my strategy. I would take the best available running back which could be Rudi Johnson or Stephan Jackson. In the second round if Peyton Manning is available I would nab him because he isnt going to be there in the next round. For your third pick you might get lucky and be able to pick up Frank Gore, who in my opinion is going to have a break out year, or Chester Taylor, who is starting behind a very talented o line. From there I would take the best wr available. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

No. Not at all. Keep your 8th overall and 3rd round pick. The guy will have a shot at the championship if you give him this deal. The 7th to 11th picks will be interchangable: johnson, cadillac, Jordon, etc. If Peyton falls to you early in the second round, i'd pounce on him.
Imagine you did do this deal: Good, LJ is now your starter. You also have an early 2nd round pick so now you have 2 great backs. But then you remember, your not going to be drafting until the 4th round. The top notch receivers are all gone already, and your sweating through the list of players to look for a good WR that you wouldve taken in the 3rd... maybe someone fell asleep and didn't draft him. But you know that won't happen. Now who do you take? You have 2 good backs, a solid receiver and a pretty good QB. Then you get a second WR, you don't like him so much but you gotta take another receiver... Later in the draft you take sleepers Heath Miller or LJ smith with a late TE pick in the 7th round.
Then what?
Was it worth it?
nah.

If it where me I would make the trade, I would draft LT, not Larry Johnson, his O line is weak, then in the second round if no good backup RBs are worth taking, I would look for a great wide receiver. Fitz from the Cards is going to be huge this year

No, you should be a able to get a good RB at number 8, or Peyton/Tom Brady.
LJ isn't worth 2 picks

dunno, depends on what you feel is right.
I traded away my #2 overall pick for a 2nd round pick, 4th round pick, and 9th round pick, so it depends. I personally wouldn't do it because you're giving up 2 players for one player who should get 275 points. You can easily match that or beat it with 2 picks.

I'd stand pat, take Steven Jackson if he fell to me and use my third rounder on a QB or WR.
