The Guinnea Pig is a special pet, but does not do well in strange circumstances. Unless you have already gotten your pet used to going places and managing new environments and people, leave him/her at home.

Maybe it would be best to take some pictures of your guinea pig, that way people can see it and you can share information about care or how your guinea pig acts. Then it would be safe and nothing bad can happen. Kids I know in school take pictures to share of their animals all the time and it goes over as well as having the animal there, except the animal can not get upset.

I wouldn't do it. It might make you feel good to show off your guinea pig, but it's for sure the guinea pig isn't going to like it.

People unaccustomed to such pets have a tendency to squeeze them to hard or might even drop them. If someone has a cold that day you are risking your pet's life. It might bite someone too because you are putting it in an unfamiliar situation.

Keep the pig home.

I think if your guinea pig is used to people, you could take it to school in it's cage, with the door securely fastened shut. Tell the other kids to look but don't touch, and have a parent take it home for you after.

I'm inclined to agree that it's risky. You can't trust everyone to be as kind and considerate to your pet as you are.

Try to remember that the poor guinea pig doesn't know if the people handling him are friendly (or at least largely well intentioned) and the stressful environment won't do him any good.

Small animals don't suffer stress well - it's kinder to your animal to leave him at home where he feels safe and secure.

Arrange a time with your parents to drop off your guinea pig and pick him back up so that nothing will happen to him.

I brang my hamster in for a few hours at school, he was fine and everyone wanted to hold him, but he was okay. I suggest you get your mother or father to bring it home. Make sure your teacher is okay with it to. Nothing bad should happen.

go to "guineapigsecrets.com" and see what they have to say, or keep him in your travel cage and don't let everyone handle him
