Could it be the Diamond Sutra - AD868
"the ‘Diamond Sutra’ is the world’s earliest complete survival of a dated printed book. It was made in AD 868. Seven strips of yellow-stained paper were printed from carved wooden blocks and pasted together to form a scroll over 5m long."

Bay Psalm Book was the first book published in the American colonies. I suspect the first published book was a religious transcript.

The first printed book was the Bible. It was published by Johann Gutenberg -- who invented movable type and made mass production of books possible -- in 1455.

It depends on how you define 'published'
the first printed book is the Gutenberg Bible, but it was never 'published' or intended to be sold to the public.

Are you referring to standard book-binding kind of book, scrolls, clay tablets or bronze sheets?
There are also the pictographs of the cavemen.
